Meet our Pleasant Grove Team

David J., CPT, CNC
Manager, Nutrition Consultant, Certified Personal Trainer
My name is David Johns and I have witnessed first hand the importance of nutrition and exercise in promoting an overall healthy lifestyle. Weighing almost 290lbs at the age of 17 and not able to keep up with friends who were much more fit and active than me, I decided to make a change and turn things around in my life. I lost 120lbs with the right balance of nutrition and fitness and a reinvented attitude. I went from a 44” waist to earning the title of Mr. Teen Utah in 2003. I went on to win 7 natural bodybuilding titles before the age of 20. I also worked as a trainer in a gym for a year and realized that clients weren’t getting the results I knew they were capable of because of a lack of specific nutritional knowledge. I made the move to Total Health and Fitness which teaches a three-fold program that encompasses nutrition, fitness and supplements and have been educating clients on HOW AND WHY they need to eat and exercise to reach their goals. I have met with over 1,000 people with goals ranging from losing 100lb of fat weight to gaining muscle, to winning Olympic gold. My clients come in all shapes and sizes! I LOVE what I do because I make lives better each day in THE BEST facility in the state! I encourage anyone with a fitness/wellness goal to tour our facility and come in for a free introduction to see what a customized nutrition and fitness program can do for changing your life.

Adam C., CPT, CNC
Nutrition Consultant, Certified Personal Trainer
I have always had a passion for health and fitness and received a bachelor’s degree from BYU in Exercise and Wellness, and my CPT from NASM. After college I chose to pursue my business interest and open up a family restaurant, O’ Crowley Irish Tacos in Utah County. I lived a very busy lifestyle and didn’t really pay attention to my own personal fitness. I struggled with my health and weight, even though I knew better. I finally decided to get serious and apply my knowledge of nutrition and exercise for my own body transformation. In about 10 months I went from 260 lbs. and 24% body fat, to 195 lbs. and 6% body fat. I enjoyed every minute of my transformation and it deepened my desire to help others and get back into the fitness industry. I am loving this new lifestyle and working as a consultant at Total Health and Fitness. Going through this process has deepened my desire to help others achieve healthy lifestyles and get great results!
-Graduated in Exercise and Wellness B.S. from Brigham Young University 2014

Kaitlin W., RD, CPT
Registered Dietitian, Nutrition consultant, Certified Personal Trainer
Hey, y’all! I’m Kaitlin, and I am a Registered Dietitian, and I’m committed to utilizing realistic, wholesome nutrition to bring out the athlete in us all. My journey started in Heber City, Utah, where my success on the track team took me to the University of Alabama. Once there, I was under a tremendous amount of pressure to perform and balance life, academics, and athletics. This led me into some experiences that many of us can relate to; struggling with weight, seeing food as my enemy, confusion as to what and how much I was supposed to eat, and ultimately, an eating disorder. I tried so hard to restrict foods and count calories to lose weight, but it wasn’t working, and my performance was suffering. After working with the Sports Dietitian there, I came to have a healthy relationship with food, was able to build muscle and lose fat, I felt better, and my performance skyrocketed.
I went on to become an All-SEC 400 hurdler and 800 runner and was able to compete at the National level. I was also a 4x All-SEC Academic Honor Roll Member as well as a 2x American All-Academic Student-Athlete. I graduated in 2018 with a degree in Food & Nutrition. Being involved with Alabama Athletics gave me the opportunity to see first-hand why proper nutrition is so important, and working with the Sports Dietitians gave me the how.
Throughout my journey, I eventually came to realize that what we are eating is just as important as how much we are eating. I realized the importance of a Plant-Based/Mediterranean Diet and the positive impact it has on our gut health, performance, and weight. I also realized how important the relationship that we have with food is for our short-term and long-term health.
We are all athletes in our own way. We all experience that pressure to perform, pull our weight on a team, or simply to be able to bring our best selves to the table, I can help you do that. Together we can improve the way you feel and perform, and help you build muscle, strength, and confidence with even small, simple changes. I believe effective and sustainable nutrition comes from a focus on adding good things to your diet rather than eliminating foods. I’ve seen these changes lead to improvements in weight, mood, mental health, performance, and diabetes, and disease management. So, come see me, and we can bring out the athlete in you.

Kohar O., RD, CPT
Registered Dietitian, Nutrition Consultant, Certified Personal Trainer
As a busy mom, I know how hard it is to eat healthy and exercise. I know how hard it is to find the time and energy to live a healthy lifestyle…and to stay motivated while doing it. After having children, I found it very difficult to get back in shape and look like I did pre-pregnancy (I gained over 95lbs with my first pregnancy!!). I realized that my body and life had changed and that I had to do things differently.
I have been a registered dietitian for over 10 years helping Utah individuals and families eat better, get active, and live healthier lives. I have worked extensively with maternal, fetal, and pediatric nutrition and know how important a healthy start is for families. I also have a strong passion for fitness and have seen the importance of nutrition in athletic performance.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and two German Shephards, hiking, rock climbing, golfing, paddle boarding, and going to Crossfit.
Let my passions and experience help you achieve your goals and have fun doing it!
- Bachelors of Science in Dietetics
- Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management
- Certificate of Training in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management
- Certified Lactation Educator

Aubrey H., MS, CPT, CNC
Nutrition Consultant, Certified Personal Trainer
Hi, I am Aubrie!
As an accomplished collegiate track and field athlete, physical fitness was my passion. I wanted to improve my own performance, which jump-started my journey with health, nutrition, and exercise. I turned my passion into a career and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a Master’s degree in Health and Human Movement from Utah State University. During my Master’s program, I completed a 400-hour internship in Cardiac Rehabilitation at McKay Dee Hospital. While working with clinical patients, I decided I wanted to help people prevent chronic diseases, with the hope that fewer people would have to experience the post-diagnosis treatments and operations.
Since my time at McKay Dee five years ago, I have personal trained and continued to study exercise science and healthy lifestyle practices. I have a love and passion for healthy living and a desire to share my knowledge about the importance of balance and sustainability for a healthy lifestyle. I know healthy living is about more than working out, it is about learning how to fuel your body, improving your self-esteem, and reaching your goals.
I am a mom to one son and two dogs. While I’m no longer running for Utah State, I have transferred my love of running to half marathons and ultra-races.
-ACSM Exercise Physiologist
-NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist
-Master’s of Science: Health and Human Movement: Emphasis Exercise Science.

Derek R., CPT, CNC
Nutrition Consultant, Certified Personal Trainer
My name is Derek Reasch, I’m a consultant and coach here at Total Health and Fitness in Pleasant Grove. I became involved in athletics at a very young age and was always interested to know how I could improve my performance. There isn’t a time that I don’t remember training in some form, but I started seriously weight lifting at 15 years old and never looked back. By working hard and applying what I learned I was able to achieve the goal of playing college football, and later after leaving football, become an elite powerlifter in the 275 lbs weight class. In 2016, while studying Exercise Science at UVU, I became a certified personal trainer, and shortly after, certified in nutrition, and in 2017 decided to take a few semesters off from school to be able to fully focus on coaching before returning to complete my degree this past January. While I love using the knowledge I’ve attained to better myself, I love using it to help others even more. Over the last several years of coaching I’ve had the great opportunity to coach people with many different goals, many different kinds of health issues to work through, and many different athletic pursuits. With properly applied principles of training and nutrition, we’ll get you where you want to be no matter the goal. Every possible minute I can, I use to learn more through formal education, reading literature, attending seminars, etc. to better be able to educate clients and help them see results.
Certifications:
- NASM Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist
- ACTION Certified Personal Trainer
- ACTION Certified Advanced Nutrition

Chenelle Staub, MS, RDN, CPT
Registered Dietitian, Nutrition consultant, Certified Personal Trainer
I grew up playing sports and loved every minute of it, yet I also had very low self-esteem. After high school, I picked up running in order to keep up with my mentality of “always be skinny no matter what.” I seemed to believe that being skinny was the answer to some deep pain I felt.
Fast forward in life, I got a divorce at 31 years old and I decided to try what I wanted to do for a long time which was lift weights. I instantly fell in love with how it made me feel, and over time, my confidence began to grow. With many life-long challenges, my one constant became taking care of my body in healthy ways and doing that which helps my body, instead of punishing it.
I am now a registered dietitian and certified personal trainer who has a deep passion for helping other people learn how to live life in their best health. Making a lifestyle of good health is so much more than just the physical transformation. Life is meant to be lived and good health is fundamental to that.
